The Man David

Reading The Man David by Harry Tennant has been extremely helpful while going through the Biblical account of his life. David truly shows us how to put God first, no matter what position we hold in this world. There are too many lessons shared in this book to begin to explain. The author allows us moments of self-examination of our own characters. He also makes connections to the greater Son of David, our Lord Jesus Christ. This is one of the best character studies I've ever done.

Would You Like to be in God's Kingdom?

Would YOU Like to be in God's Kingdom written by Sister Sharon Abel and illustrated beautifully by Sister Martha Sales teaches children about the kingdom age. There are discussions between parents and children about what we have to do to be there. Included in the book are plenty of verses to support the content. It's great to have in your collection regardless if you have children or not. Visitors, grandchildren, and Sunday School students will all enjoy it.

In My Father's House

This is a collection of writings written in the days when it was the norm for a daughter to stay at home until marriage. During the years between girlhood and married life, young women used their days to prepare to be a wives and mothers. This compliation of essays from time past helps those who are striving to take up the noble calling to put God first in everything they do while single.

"The home daughter who is not discontented with her lot, but on the contrary who is willing to accept her household, her people and her quiet post of service as the one God meant for her, will not find time hanging heavily on her hands. There is much room for tillage in the home vineyard...Surely the home-daughter need not fear to magnify her place of honor in God's world" (p. 26).
